On May 29, 2014, Deanna Tanner Okun will participate in a discussion on the Court of International Trade's Jurisdiction: Challenges and Opportunities, in New York City.
At the Customs and International Trade Bar Association Annual Meeting, Deanna will participate in a discussion regarding the Court of International Trade. The panel will discuss trade and customs enforcement actions that are being pursued outside of the Court or in novel ways at the Court. Topics covered will include the use of the False Claims Act to pursue Customs violations in district courts (including in the trade remedy context) as well as efforts to secure enforcement of Section 337 exclusion orders. The panelists will also review on-going efforts to ensure the Court's jurisdiction remains current with the scope of today's trade and customs practice.
