Rapid Customs Information Bulletin

On August 31, 2015, CBP announced a new 30-day period for public comments on the proposed information collection aspect of TTP pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Public Law 104-13; 44 U.S.C. 3507). Such comments should address:

  1. whether the collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility;
  2. the accuracy of the agency's estimates of the burden of the collection of information;
  3. ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected;
  4. ways to minimize the burden, including the use of automated collection techniques or the use of other forms of information technology; and
  5. the annual costs to respondents or record keepers from the collection of information (total capital/startup costs and operations and maintenance costs).

The draft application for participation in the TTP is available, click here. CBP also proposes to have successful applicants submit an Annual Notification Letter to CBP in order to update their information and establish their continued eligibility for the program.

TTP will be open to importer participants in C-TPAT. CBP will be accepting comments on the proposed collection of information via the TTP Application and Annual Notification Letter until September 30, 2015.
