US-EU Small and Medium Enterprise Trade Workshop (October, 2017)

Date:
Oct 5 2017

AMS will join Kansas Global Trade Services in sponsoring this year’s US-European Union Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) trade workshop, which focuses on expanded European trade opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses.

The annual meeting is a collaborative effort between the United States and the European Union to bring together small and medium businesses and stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic with government officials to discuss trade issues of particular interest to SMEs.

The workshop alternates between the US and EU, and is convened by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the Department of Commerce, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and EU counterpart agencies. This year’s meeting in Wichita marks the first time the U.S. event has been held outside of Washington, DC.

In addition to the firm’s sponsorship of the event, AMS attorney Beau Jackson will speak on a panel entitled “Manufacturing SMEs in transatlantic trade: export strategies, regulatory issues and barriers to trade.” Other confirmed panelists include Christina Sevilla (USTR) and Pat Kirwan (Commerce). Karyn Page will moderate the panel.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 19 at the Wichita State University Innovation Campus. The event agenda can be found in the attached pdf file. For more information, including registration details, click here.
