Joshua Hartman is a Partner at Adduci, Mastriani, & Schaumberg LLP. He specializes in representing companies in intellectual property and unfair competition disputes in Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and in civil litigation before United States district courts. Josh represents clients ranging from growth-stage companies to Fortune 500s in industries such as life sciences, cybersecurity, cleantech, and automotive. Having begun his career at a large, international law firm, Josh is a seasoned litigator who brings high energy, strategic thinking, and practical, business-oriented solutions to his matters. Josh has helped secure remedial orders from the ITC, jury verdicts totaling more than a billion dollars, and complete defense wins.

In addition, Josh has contributed to A Lawyer’s Guide to Section 337 Investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission (4th Ed.), Intellectual Property Misuse: Licensing and Litigation (2d Ed.), and Antitrust Law Developments.
Josh is heavily involved in his community. He is an active member of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, having served on its Executive Committee and chaired its membership and editorial committees. Josh co-founded and chairs AMS’s Pro Bono Committee, overseeing matters on which the firm partners with the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center Advocacy & Justice Clinic. Josh also serves on the Board of Directors of Potomac Crescent Waldorf School, currently as its Chair.
Josh earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he received a certificate of achievement from the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law and interned for the Kernochan Center for Law, Media and the Arts. Josh earned his L.L.M. in intellectual property law from the London School of Economics and Political Science, graduating with distinction and representing the LSE in the Oxford International Intellectual Property Law Moot Court Competition.
